Term 2 Schedule Information: Reminder - make sure you have gone to your StuentVue to check your Semester 2 Class Schedule.  All change of request forms must be signed by your parent/guardian and turned in to Student Services by 3:30 on Friday, December 14th. (L. Bjorgum, 11/27-12/14)

PG Voice, a student culture and climate committee, will be starting back up at the beginning of next semester. This is a group of students who will meet once a month with Ms.Swain to discuss student based issues. It is an opportunity to earn community service and have your voice be heard. Wednesday - Friday, December 19th - 21st, Finals Schedule, school dismisses @ 12:10, lunch served 12:10-12:30 (Wednesday 12/19 Periods 1 & 2, Thursday 12/20 Periods 3 & 4or5, Friday 12/21 Periods 6 & 7.

Monday, December 24th - Monday, January 7th, Winter Break (students return to school on Tuesday, 1/8)

LIBRARY NEWS:
Teen Library Club meets FRIDAY (not Thursday) for holiday luncheon @ Library Workroom.  Arrive early for food & raffle. 

Next week, the library is open Monday & Tuesday regular hours; however Wednesday thru Friday Finals Days, the
library’s CLOSED 8:AM-12:10 for Finals Testing.

Students in Econ, Gov, Health, W. Geo or Psychology remember to bring your textbook on your class return day—check with your teacher which day, either Monday or Tuesday return day. We need your textbooks back for Term 2 checkouts in Janurary.

CAREER CENTER NEWS:

Are you interested in becoming a firefighter?  Captain Robert Anthony from the Sacramento Fire Department is coming to PG to talk to interested students about the ins and outs of becoming a firefighter...Presentation is schedule for Friday, February 22nd.  If you would like to receive a pass to attend this presentation please sign up in the Career Center asap. CLUB/ACADEMY/ACADEMIC NEWS/EVENTS:

Red Carpet meeting is Thursday morning, December 13th @ 8:00 a.m. in the ASB room.  This meeting is for students who are volunteering to be dates or servers at the event.  The event is being held on Saturday, February 16th @ Armaans Event Center in Elk Grove.  

There will be a Girls Empowerment Project meeting Thursday morning at 8 am in HL-6.  There will be warm drinks and breakfast for those who come.

IMPORTANT REMINDER - PSA is having a blanket drive through Friday December 14th.  The blankets will be donated to the Sacramento Homeless Shleter.  we would appreciate you participating by dropping off slightly used or new blankets to your advocacy class on Thursday the 13th. This will be a competition between advocacy classes and whichever advocacy has the most blankets by the end of the week will have a donut party after Winter Break week! Please participate for this is a great cause! (J. Platt, 12/13)

GENERAL & FUTURE NEWS:
This year we also have Winter Homecoming on January 26th! The theme is "A Winter Wonderland." However, this dance cannot happen unless we sell 500 tickets before finals week by December 14th. Tickets are on sale through December 14th for $10 (cash only) with OR without ASB, buy them at the ASB window. If we do not meet our 500 ticket minimum before finals week the dance will be cancelled and everyone who bought tickets will be reimbursed. (B. Koerber, 12/14)


Have you bought your yearbook yet? Yearbooks are still $90! Get yours before prices increase February 1st. Buy online at jostens.com or write a check at the Site Controller’s window. (A. Sousa, 12/21) 

Senior Disneyland Trip - 30 more seats are available on bus #2.  These need to be filled by seniors by this Friday, November 30th and then the seats will be available to juniors.  Bus #2 needs to be filled before we leave for our Winter Break on Friday, 12/21. Questions, see Mr. Platt

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Dillard Elementary school is asking for volunteers to help at its annual Father/Daughter Game Night on Friday, January 18th.  Volunteers are needed at the school from 5:30 until 8:30 or 9 p.m.  Duties include running the different games throughout the night and helping to clean up at the end.  Dinner will be provided, Chinese food and pizza will be available.  This is a fun event and easy way to earn some community service hours.  If you are interested, please call the school at 916-687-6121 to sign up.  Volunteers will be contacted by the Game Night coordinator to confirm. (D.
