We have a very exciting opportunity for the spring semester at PGHS. We will have another CRC college course taught on our campus. The class is great for students that are going directly to a 4-year college OR starting at a community college.  Early Child Development 300 will be offered.  This course is an introduction to early childhood education, including an overview of the history of the field, evolution of professional practices and ethics, educational principles that support child development from birth through school-age years, and teaching practices based on observation, documentation, and interpretation of children’s behavior.

CRC classes will begin January 13th and run through May 16th, and be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:50 PM. This course is a great way to start college credits and is CSU transferable. The class is also FREE, although students will be responsible for payment of the course materials (book). To participate in this program a student must be 16 or have completed their sophomore year and have a cumulative GPA of 2.7.  Note: this class will NOT be included on your PGHS transcript, it starts your college transcript.  College courses look great on college applications!

If you are interested this class, it will be available on a first come-first served basis. Please sign up in the Career Center by Friday, 11/10. We will be calling all students in to do the application process together. All forms must be signed by a parent and then returned to the counseling office by November 27th.
