Congressman Ami Bera and his staff will be holding a Service Academy Information Day on Saturday September 16, 2017.  Location is 4350 Sophistry Drive , Rancho Cordova, CA  95742 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 

Representatives from The United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and the United States Military Academy will be present to give information to students, parents, siblings, friends about how to apply to attend these great American institutions, all of which are ranked as top colleges in the USA. This event is free to all.

Sacramento Heart and Stroke Walk are looking for volunteers to help set up, tear down and general help from September 21-23, 2017.  The purpose of this event is to help fight heart disease and stroke.  The walk will be held at CA State Capitol Steps (10th & N Streets, Sacramento) on Thursday, 9/21 and William Land Regional Park (3800 W Land Park Drive, Sacto) on Saturday, 9/23. For more info visit or contact with any questions. Annual Arnold Adreani Elementary Spaghetti Feed is looking for volunteers for their Friday, September 29th event. They are looking for students to work from 4:45 - 8:45 p.m. Duties to include setup, dessert auction, serving and cleaning up.  Contact Marilyn Dillard at to sign up.

Looking for community service?  Do you like soccer?  How about helping our local special needs TOP Soccer program.  Practices are Tuesday and Wednesday at Miwok Park from 6-7.  Games will be on Saturdays at BSP (Bartholomew Sports Park) starting in September.  Days and times for soccer buddies are flexible.  See Ms. Mullins in HK9 to sign up and find out more about this program.

Sunshine Swim & Fitness Center is Elk Grove's premier swim center. We are excited to offer a variety of dynamic programs for all ages and abilities. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, fun and positive learning environment, where students gain strength, confidence, and a love for fitness. Our swim programs are dedicated to small class sizes, personalized instruction and a knowledgeable staff.  
We are in need of Swim Instructors!  Afternoon & Weekend Shifts Available. Swim Instructor responsibilities include but are not limited to: teaching all levels of swim lessons, group and private, appropriately marking attendance for swimmers, providing accurate information on all of Sunshine Swim and Fitness Center's programs, maintaining a clean facility, preparing the facility to open/close each day, spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents, and reporting to Manager each day

Swim experience is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided to the right candidates. Applicants must be available between the hours of 4:00-7:00 pm Monday-Thursday. Weekend hours vary. Interested candidates should email their cover letters and resume

Obtain a "Statement of Intent to Employ Minor and Request for Work Permit (green form).  See attached or obtain one from Student Services or the Administration Office.  Make sure that all parts of the application are complete:  personal info, social security, employer's signatures, work being performed, parent/guardian signatures.  Once complete turn the form in to appropriate person (per below):
  • All general  “Statement of Intent to Employ Minor and Request for Work Permit (green forms)” go to Administration building (Principal or Vice Principal) for verification and issuance.  Students should return to sign and pick up their final work permit to give to their employer from this office as well.
  • All work experience students - your  “Statement of Intent to Employ Minor and Request for Work Permit (green forms)” go to Jeff Caton, PG Work Experience teacher, for verification and issuance.  Please give to Mr. Caton in person or bring them to the Administration building and ask that the application be put into Mr. Caton's box in the workroom.  Students should return and pick up their final work permit to give to their employer from Mr. Caton as well.
